Research shows that GATE learners think, process, create, assimilate information critically, creatively and often times differently than other learners. Lack of challenge, complexity, and/or novelty can result in student boredom, disengagement, and/or negative behavior in the classroom.

Monthly parent meetings and student events, student field trips (outside school hours) and support groups for parents are coordinated by GATE parent coordinator Naz Cohen. Warner Avenue School is also introducing a Gifted and Talent Education (GATE) after-school program for added differentiated academic support for identified gifted and highly intellectual students.
